In this issue, instrumentation includes nick, nick twin fiddles, pedal steel, lap steel, viola, electric lead, acoustic lead, keyboards, percussion, drum & bass with harmony vocals. The CD is appropriately titled and no doubt will make want you to hit the dance floor with your fav or at least roll back the rug. This is a no holds barred country CD with no fancy frills and jazzy breaks in the middle and has only four covers while the originals are excellent tunes as well. DURWOOD vocally, is in top form.

Veteran singer/songwriter/musician Durwood Haddock whose career dates back to the golden age of country music releases his fifth album with the unique title HANKS A LOT. Durwood reaches back to that golden era in which he most certainly is familiar performs 12 of his favorite HANK songs by HANK
WILLIAMS, HANK SNOW, HANK THOMPSON and HANK LOCKLIN. These are songs that Durwood learned when he was barely a teenager and later performed on radio, in honky tonks & dance halls in Texas before he was twenty.Durwood’s career as a vocalist never reached the brass ring status, but his writing most certainly did. In l954 the first song he
wrote with Eddie Miller & recorded on 4 Star Records titled THERE SHE GOES didn’t result in Durwood becoming a house hold name as an artist, but CARL SMITH’S recording, a number three chart the following year in l955, started a whole new career for Durwood as a song writer. Later the song was recorded by PATSY CLINE(There He Goes) and eventually sold in the millions in
THE PATSY CLINE COLLECTION in l991. In l980 it was featured in the Oscar winningmovie,COAMINER’S DAUGTHER the life story of Loretta Lynn an ater the movie THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS starring ASIA ARGENTO & PETER FONDA. To date the song has been recorded over 150 times by
various artists including BUDDY GRECO, JERRY WALLACE, SAMMI SMITH, SCISSY SPACEK, K.D. LANG & ERNEST TUBB to name only a few. While THERE SHE GOES has been the more successful song, Durwood has had several others
recorded by a stellar cast of country & pop music notables over the past half century

(DAILEY) HADDOCK/SELF TITLED (import) 2013 import release. Another trip back in
time musically for DURWOOD which dates back to the year l954. That was the year
using the name DAILEY he recorded THERE SHE GOES & I DON'T
WANTA in Odessa, Texas at radio station KECK engineered by local country music
star and DJ, BILL MYRICK. Personnel on that session included DURWOOD on
vocals and fiddle... LARRY EUDY fiddle... Pedal Steel by BOBBY GARRET who was
on leave from HANK THOMPSON'S BRAZOS BOYS at the time...EDDIE MILLER rhythm
guitar and co-writer of the later to be country/pop standard RELEASE ME ...TINY
COLB ERT writer of PATSY CLINE'S, THE HEART YOU BREAK MAY BE
YOUR ON played piano and was Durwood's boss man at the time & LEON
HAYES on upright bass and brother of fiddle player RED HAYES writer of
SATISFIED MIND.. The recording was released on Four Star Records the
following year l955. THERE SHE GOES was covered by Carl Smith that same year
and hit the # 3 spot in Billboard. Since then the song has become a standard
having been recorded by some of the all time greats in country music ALL THE
WAY DOWN and WAIT TIL I GET MY HANDS ON YOU was recorded in Ft. Worth, Texas at Clifford Herring Studios. Musicians included MARVIN MONTGOMERY
& THE LIGHT CRUST DOUGHBOYS. YOU GOTTA DO A LITTLE PUTTIN ON was recorded
in Nashville, Tennessee at Mercury Studios utilizing some of the A-team pickers
with DURWOOD on fiddle. ODE TO THE BUFFALO BILLS was produced by BOB DEAN and
also played trumpets... IT SURE LOOKS GOOD ON YOU was produced by the late BOB
MILSAP (You Needed Me-Heaven Is My Woman's Love) and recorded at BUZZ CASON
STUDIO in Nashville. Some of the session personnel included THE CATES SISTERS
violins and background vocals, CURTIS YOUNG lead guitar and bass. 7
